Susannah, 3rd year Vet student

Susannah

"The Cambridge veterinary course so far has completely exceeded expectations. I love the balance of learning the core theoretical science whilst still building practical skills through dissections, animal handling sessions and EMS placements during the holidays. The intercalated third year was a particular highlight. I spent my year learning about veterinary epidemiology and pathology and then undertook a research project for the first time. It was quite challenging, but the opportunity to work with leaders in the field, who were tackling real life veterinary issues such as Bovine TB or rabies, was exciting and inspiring. I received an amazing level of support from leading academics and developed critical thinking skills that will be useful throughout my veterinary career. The supervision system here has also been a huge advantage- it’s meant that throughout my three years at Cambridge, I have always felt like there was someone I could turn to for academic help, career advice or simple words of encouragement."
