Governance
The Faculty of Biology sits within the School of the Biological Sciences and is responsible to the General Board for ensuring the provision of appropriate instruction and adequate facilities for research in the subjects of the Faculty, for preparing the teaching programme of the Faculty, and for ensuring that the teaching given is of a high standard. The members of the Faculty are listed here annually. Officers of the Faculty are also listed in the Reporter.
The Faculty Board is responsible for the undergraduate teaching of biological sciences in the Natural Sciences Tripos through the Biological Sciences Committee, for the Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos through the MVST Part I Committee and for the Psychological and Behavioural Sciences Tripos through the PBS Management Committee. The Medical Education Committee (MEC) oversees medical education in Cambridge.
The Degree Committee for the Faculty of Biology is responsible for recommending applicants for admission as graduate students and for recommending the award of post-graduate degrees and diplomas.
