Faculty of Biology

These pages give information to both prospective and current students about the Veterinary Medicine course at Cambridge

Welcome to our webpages about the Veterinary Sciences Tripos (VetST).

The VetST is the pre-clinical course taken by students wishing to become Vets over their years 1 and 2. It is overseen by the Faculty of Biology.

Covid-19 update:  Due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and government guidance,  we have had to make some changes to the programme in order to mitigate against risks to health and to give you the best possible academic experience in the circumstances.

Please be aware that neither preclinical nor clinical veterinary medicine can be studied remotely, with the exception of the third year (Part II), which will depend on the Tripos chosen to study.. If students wish to leave Cambridge for medical reasons, they need to apply for intermission.

We will continue to monitor and respond to the changing public health situation. The changes are:

  • All lectures will be delivered online
  • Most practicals will be delivered online
  • Where we are able to deliver practicals in person you will be told.
